Anger Management Program
If you are charged with assault, you may be asked to complete an anger management program. If you are on probation for an assault case, AMP will be a condition of your probation. If you are on bond, it may be beneficial for you to take an anger control class as part of the plea negotiations. Tarrant County CSCD requires all Anger Management Program (AMP) courses meet the following requirements:
- The course must be 18 hours of total counseling, comprising of 16 hours in a group session, 1-hour intake, and 1-hour exit sessions
- Group sessions must be 2 hours each
- Group sessions may meet once or twice weekly, for a total of four weeks or eight weeks
- Male and female participants must be in separate classes
